Who We Are

What is Young Farmers?

Young Farmers' Clubs (YFC) is the largest rural youth organisation in the UK, with over 600 clubs and more than 25,000 members nationwide. The movement has been shaping rural youth for almost a century.

Membership is open to anyone aged 12-30 — and you don't need to be a farmer. If you love the outdoors, country life, and meeting great people, YFC is for you.

Our Story

Southwell & District Young Farmers' Club has been a cornerstone of the rural community around Southwell, Nottinghamshire for decades. What started as a small group of farming enthusiasts has grown into a thriving club with a packed calendar of events, competitions and social gatherings.

We are proud members of the Nottinghamshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, regularly competing at county and national level. Our members have excelled in everything from livestock judging and tractor driving to public speaking, drama and cookery.

Above all, Southwell YFC is a family. Whether you're helping out on a farm, organising a charity fundraiser or simply enjoying a night out with friends, our club exists to celebrate everything brilliant about country life.

Giving back to the community is at the heart of everything we do at Southwell YFC. Throughout the year we organise a range of fundraising events — from sponsored walks and quiz nights to charity auctions and county competitions — all in aid of causes that matter to our members and the wider Nottinghamshire community.
